Pyradius and the Equis Team,

I have learnt to create a composite index from 2 securities and I tired to create another Composite index with the same securities, with different weighting factor. However, I can not successfully do that and a message displayed "Add or change would duplicate an existing security"..... how can I do that?

The composite will always take the symbol of the Primary security in your composite. You cannot have 2 composites with the same symbol. Depending on how your composite is calculating you could possibly switch the Primary with the Secondary. Alternatively, you may wish to use the Security Data function within MetaStock instead of the Composite in the DownLoader, although this will only plot as an indicator and not price bars.

Pyradius,

As I have created one composite with security A and B, 2A-3B, that is a positive index. Would that be meaning if I create another composite, B-A, which is a negative index!? will try it, but with doubt!!

Any recommendation?

Correct, unfortunately this would give you a negative instead of a positive. Aside from this, you would either have to have separate copies of the securities in a different folder, or use the Security Data function to plot this as an indicator.

Hi,

I'm a new boarder - I have a question about Composites ... once created using "The Downloader" it shows up as a "Smart chart" in the securities list. However, in "The Explorer" page im unable to "add" these securities (composites) to an exploration. Can someone help ?

Thanks,

Karan
