Dear Experts,

Can anyone tell me how to avoid "SmartCharts in every folder" problem if my data supplier gives me ability for grouping stock in various folders (e.g.: GICS, TOP500 etc.).

These custom folders are daily updated by their software. Data storage is very redundant because DAT files are stored in every folders.

I have made some custom folders and tried to save space with adding their content to Favorites but after deleting mentioned folders content of Favorites are also gone...

Do anyone has a HD space saving solution?

Thanks in advance

hey redrunner..... there is a unspoken method to completely shut down the smart chart function but meta was not designed for that and it might be counter productive......

first think hard on your goal here..... a typical smart chart folder would contain less kb's than that of a couple securites dat files.... by deleting a dozen completely unneeded securities you will have more than made up for their added storage.... avoiding smart charts might not achieve your true goal.... the kb's saved will be minimal....

its far better to viciously streamline the folders themselves by removing all unneeded symbols.... the meg's saved will be considerable....

the infamous favorites folder can be missleading are far as function but once we see the deal, it actually makes sense.... h
