Greeting for the new version!

Are there any changes in the MSX features in Version 10 - like support for simpler/easier programming languages or support for latest programming languages like Visual Studio 2005.

Regards

Smg

No. None of the MDK changed in version 10.

Visual Studio 2005 is a tool, not a language.
You can still use VS 2005 as you have been able to with all other versions of the MDK.

I have VS6 and also VS C++ 2005 and the MDK.

In VS6 I am presented with the option to create a new MS addin as a new project, but this is not the case with VS C++ 2005 Express Edition which uses project templates. The MDK doesn't have a project template? Has anyone made one? I haven't had the time or the inclination, yet... I don't really like using the .NET version which makes writing win32 apps a PITA and doesn't allow the use of MFC, you have to pay for that privilege?! I will keep using my vanilla VS6 until it finally dies...

It doesnt really matter, so long as the compilers can find the right MSX header files (i.e MSXStruct.h) you can use what ever compiler you like. I have tried making simple (test) .dll with gcc, mcc, bcc, VS6, VS2005, devC++ (really nice IDE) etc etc All work well. It really comes down to a personal preference and the performance of the compiler to compress or speed up the code.

I would like to learn more about what other people are doing with their MDK, their IDE and their trials and tribulations, problems and fixes.

We haven't done a project template since VC 6, but you can still create your own projects in other IDEs. The manual walks you through general steps on how to set up a project in programs other than VC 6.
