Hi MS users,

This post tries to discuss the captioned as I have been using the MS Pro RT for some time and am not satisfying the performance of MS as expressed in another post that there is a time dalayed and shown in the chart / layout and nearly 100% computer usage rate sometimes.

http://forum.equis.com/forums/thread/19029.aspx

Well, I have done some basic computer optimizations, but don't feel big improvement. They are Drive Deframentaion, System Files Defragmentation using System Files Defragmenter (for pagefile, hiberfil files) http://www.standards.com/ThisAndThat/PageFileUsageMonitor.html

With this direction, there should be possibly with the following ways:-

1) A system with two SCSI drives and raid 0, haven't tired that as my system is old one supports no raid function and doesn't have SCSI.

Patrick has pointed out some time ago that the performance of MS deals with the hard drive and sugested to use two SCSI and raid 0.

But, I have read from the internet that all data will potentially be lost if there is a small problem in one drive.

Anyone tried it? Does it worth trying with the disadvantage?

2) Increase Hard Drive Speed

http://www.petri.co.il/increase_hard_disk_speed_in_windows_xp_2003.htm

haven't tried it, but may try later. Anyone has tried it?

3) Creation of a Ram Drive using Super Speed Ram Disk

This requires a system with large and excess ram, like 2 G, in which a lower investment on hard ware is involved. Having read a computer magazine that it will improve the computer performance as it saves time in reading / writing a mechanical hard drive. I have the following thoughts:-

i) put the data ffoler there, so that MS Pro will update the data there without a mechanical frive involvemnt.

ii) intstall MS there also, so the computer system can run faster with this program. Not sure if that can be done.

Option under this will risk yourself from loosing all data when the system is down!!

Welcome if any experienced MS user and computer expert join to discuss.

p/s Please have a look at my little and perhaps niche question, that may not interest anyone, but I need to figure out. thanks!
