Hi, I would like to compile a favorites folder from an excel list of codes. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to add them all manually? :?: Cheers Charmeta

You could construct a .SYM file for easy access to those symbols. Column A should contain the ticker, and there should be no other columns in the file. Save the Excel file as a .CSV (Comma Delimited) file. However, when you save the file, put the filename in quotation marks and put a special .SYM extension on the end (i.e. "MyStocks.SYM"). Save this file in the DownLoader folder (Typically C:\\Program Files\\Equis\ he DownLoader). You can now access this list of symbols either through the DownLoader (File>New>Security>Lookup, it will show up under the Type field) or you can see this list directly in MetaStock through the Data On Demand button (i.e. File>Open>Reuters DataLink).

Hi Pyradius, thanks for your reply. I am using EOD V9.1 & I created a SYM file as you described. Do I need to sign up with reuters datalink? I want to do an exploration on the file.

If you want to use that list in MetaStock directly you would need Reuters DataLink to go with the EOD version. In the DownLoader, you could construct local files using that list and download from the supported vendors within the DownLoader (Dial/Data, Signal, Telescan, Reuters DataLink).
