I don't know how to use command line for conversion process.
Anybody please spell it, step by step in simple english.

In India " NSE" & "BSE " the 2 Exchanges provides EOD Data in a specific format ,which has to be converted to Excel
format in a specific column array with specific cloumn Header & some other changes to be made so that "Down Loader" can convert that Modified Excel format.Some peoples are doing it free ,like my forum,"BSE - NSE 2005",where Mansoor is
a senior member than me.Some people have developed an Utility which when connected to the Exchanges will automatically
1st Convert the Data to Excel format & then convert the same by Downloader ,so that you dont have to do anything.
They are selling these one time basis so that you dont pay any Data vendor.I am ignorent about how it is done in your
or Jose's country Australia.

There have been many discussions on the pros and cons of getting free data from various sources. I don't wish to resurrect these, but in reply to your post make this comment:
I believe that you get what you pay for. If I want quality data, I have to pay a price for it, but for the cost, my data provider allows me to make choices. My data provider allows me access to data in a variety of formats, so I don’t have to do any conversion or any other manipulation. This is just one benefit of paying a data vendor.

In which format do you receive the EOD data? Can you provide a sample for us in the form of an attachment to this thread? If so, I will see about writing you a conversion routine.

In developing coumtries the Data Service provider provides the Data only,without any extra service like what E Signal
provides because of less of competition .Hence when personally i can change the data to get the same output as our paid
data service provider there is prudence in doing so & providing it free to fellow trader's is a benovolent social service.

And you get this in plain text format or what? Do you have a link where I can download the data directly?

Ok... I found a couple of sites with csv files of the data. Before I go to it, understand that what I can do is change the csv format into a MestStock compatible format... nothing else. This will still leave you with a lot of work every day to update your symbol files manually. There are some ideal pre-packaged solutions available out there to meet your needs. If you want the plain file conversion, let me know. If you decide to go with a commercial solution (not just a format conversion), let us know how you like it.

The site is www.bseindia.com .Here there is a Daily Bhav Copy in excel format.In www.nseindia.com go to the Equity section there in "Market Today" you will get a Zip file ,in that Zip file i select the individual excel files like,Pd file(for cash mkt) and manually change the
nessecary things.It takes hardly 2mins manually everyday for me.These Datas are uploaded by the exchange by 5.00pm
(mkt. closes at 3.30 pm).Whereas 90% of the Data Vendors gives us after 6.30pm.
