Excellent question! You get a gold star!! Yes, it is different. Confusing? Nah, just new. You have two options from which to choose to view your threads: 1) Flat View and 2) Threaded View. If you select Flat View mode, it doesn't matter which reply to button you hit... not really. If you select Threaded View mode, you will see the structure of the replies. The benefit here is the flexability the feature provides when syndicating the threads. The simple answer is to select Flat View and forget about it. However, if you want to be technically correct, hit the Reply To button on the post that you are replying to.
