Hi
Is there any way to schedule an exploration or multiple explorations in the background or automatically at a scheduled time ?
Many thanks

MetaStock does not have this functionality, although there are various scripting/macroing-type programs that can accomplish this (i.e. Winbatch).

was just fixin to answer when i noticed pyradius' post .... my thoughts would parrallel his..... much of what is said can't be done can.... often you just need an outside program to instruct meta......
depending on the scope of your exploration and its purpose , i can think of at least one way it might be accomplished as is.....
the timing is no issue, just the scope..... how many securities are we talking about and is this a buy/sell type exploration......h

Thanks guys
Yes I just want to run about five scans on a daily basis and have the results stored somewhere, without doing them serially. We only get the Us share prices through about midnight and it takes a while to run all scans serially. Alternatively being able to run a scan in the background while I work through the results of the first scan would be nice.
Each scan involves about 11000 securities, looking for a sell signal.

hey david..... well that scraps my idea.... it would only work on a relatively small number, say less than 100.... it involves the commentary section of experts.... they do not have to be attached and in a very real sense are non stop explorations..... simply reading the commentary would give you up to the second scans..... having 5 such commentarys might cover the s&p 500, but something as large as the wilshire 10000 will require the old fashion way......
speakin of non stop, was that a ch.com/quickchart/quickchart.asp?symb=%24tran&sid=0&o_symb=%24tran&freq=6&time=2]train wreck or what.... never touched the brakes.......h
