Sometimes, I wonder why I try.....
I currently have three MDK projects underway. I have the good people here to test these for me and see if they all work to plan. The feedback so far has been promising.
Instead of sending all three files to a tester, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice if I just compiled them all in one .dll file, and they could just test that?"
I did that today, and tried to send the first copy to one of our good readers. He did not receive the file!
More than that, there was no copy of the outbound email saved in my "sent box". I was thinking by this stage that something had gone seriously awry.
Even more, because the combined .dll file and the three individual files were all open at the time of sending, they have ALL been corrupted!
And more, even with some of the most sophisticated recovery tools on the market, I cannot get the files back!
And even more still, after attempting recovery with all applications left in the state they were in when the 'accident' happened (highly recommended course of action) with no joy, I decided to shutdown VisualStudio 6 (the IDE for MDX development) and now it has over written the entire section on the disk where the original (lost) files resided!!

I have backups that are a week old (Friday is backup day!).... but I had done a lot of work during the week...
So, the short version of the long is, I have permanently lost the applications that were available for testing.
I will re-write what I can in the short term and get that back up. SWMBO reckons I should be able to re-write the applications faster the second time! My apologies to anyone that was waiting.
Lesson: Backup! Backup! Backup!

P.S. Can anyone with any version of Statistics.dll, myDll.dll, myLatch.dll, test.dll PLEASE send me back a copy so I can de-compile it (this might speed up the development process)
P.P.S. Iwill take my computer for forensic testing tomorrow to see if there is something recoverable. I am not holding my breath.... but I am going to get drunk!

I sent you what I have. Both are a week old, so probably not much help. :(

You probably know this already but be very careful sending files with extensions .exe .dll .bat etc,
anything that looks like it will run when you open it. Looks like a virus so email packages delete
them. Zip it up or change the extension to .txt and it has always gone through for me.
