fourm.dll is grreat. allows so much more flexibility. Problem recently is when i go into an indicator to check, then on exiting an error message comes up that something like a sum function or hhv function or others are with errors and will not let the indicator section close.
sometimes i get a message attempt to call an msx dll function that has been invalidated forum.hhv". sometimes i will be doing and expl9oration and it starts off all right slowly analyzinf the stocks, then suddenly it rejects everthing lightening fast.
attempt to execute an indicator that does not exsist" (although I have checked leter by letter and space by space and the indicator was there!
Or: "does not contain an executable formula" yet recently the indicator had worked.
So far, I have to close down metastock, and start up again. but lately none of the explorations wqith forum.dll will work.
I downloaded forum.dll again, but the same problem. explorer will process about 5 stocks then it rejects everything.
Error: an msx.dll function has triggered an addess violation error. then
"attempt to call an msx.dll function that has been invalidated."
it seems now to only refer to forum.mov dll...b message E#0
the same sort of problem also appears when indicators contain forum hhv, price channel, mov, ref,
Any clues?i

Part of the problem was the download of the forum.dll again. My programs blocked it as a security measure. thus, the dll would not show up on the functions list.
So one has to go into the external functions dll folder
and right click on the forum.dll file.
then click properties.
In the general tab, at the bottom ,
if it is blocked, there willl be a tab that says unblock.
Click this and close out, and the forum.dll will show up in metastock.
Perhaps also because I opened and closed the program a number of times helped too, because now explorer is working alright. Hope that continues.
It did not continue to work . After processing about 20 securities, it then speeded thru everthing else and rejected all. I shut down and tried only those securities that had gone alright, but this time it would not even do those.. it rejected all 20. Really strange.
Opening and closing th eprogram again might allow some work with indicators and charts for some minutes, then I will get the invalidated message again.. referencing the var mov part of the forum.dll, and none of the indicators with forum.dll will work, and also the forum.dll no longer shows up in the functions list.
