Not sure could be some thing on the chart.
Open a clean daily chart, then add the SMA.
It should plot as a solid line.

I opened a clean chart, and it did the same thing. Only on the daily. The prog was from a download of MS.
It has not done it on my laptop, which was an install from the disk.
Do you think I should uninstall the web version from MS and reinstall it from the disk?

We would need more information to address this
How are you plotting the moving average?
What security are you openning?
Are you openning it as a daily chart?
Are there other indicators on it?
I dont think it is the program it is some thing on the chart or the indicator.
I dont think reinstalling will help
Regards

Yes, you were right, not in the prog.
I unchecked the show beaks in data for weekends box.
Solved the broken line, which is how MS shows the weekend breaks in data by breaking the plot line (ES uses a dotted line).

I know the post has ended but in case some other user strike the same problem here it is.
Go to Tools>Options>Application Properties>Chart Options> uncheck show empty weekends.
THis closes the break of the SMA plot lines on the daily.
