Question on labelling and comparing charts and indices

I like to compare stocks to related indices to see if they are stronger, weaker, acting in unison or in opposition etc. To do this I mark up the index chart by inserting a Text box label, A, B, C etc at each prominent feature such as the start and finish of a wave, shakeout, head and shoulder etc.
I then call up the individual stock chart that I want to compare the index with and I insert the same labels on the same dates as I did in the index's chart. I can then easily analyse and compare the stock’s behaviour with that of the index.
What I would like to do is to have some sort of template that would automatically mark up individual stock charts with the A, B, C etc text labels attached to the same dates as my original index chart. At the moment I do this manually but doing it automatically would save considerable time.
Does anyone have any suggestions either in the form of a solution or a pointer to getting the answer somewhere else?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
