I try to open a template( have it saved few on destkop) used before thousand of time those template and never expirienced any problem with them. Today I try to open any of them and I am not able to open Metastock is running, Metastock and esignal server is running what may cause opening template from desktop? Have been used for 2 years same template

You need to apply a template to a chart by right clicking on a chart and selecting "apply template".
Just trying to open a template from your desktop will do nothing and that is normal ;)

hey Patrick, sorry I got headache yesterday... Layout with template.. I have save them on destkop and apply them on Metastock and I was unable to open any of them what could cause this problem?

hey konrad.... can't figure if you got it straight or not.....
attempting to open a template from the desktop should give you the unexpected file format error message.... like patrick said, they must be applied, not opened.... they can be applied from the desktop, the from location is not important, applied is the key.....
layouts and charts should open as they have for you in the past..... there are several reasons they might not today.... did meta give you any type error message...... most often when layouts will not open, multiple messages are given.... one for each component of the layout.....h

you are right Patrick and Hayseed , but that a little diffrent situtation my template is disable when I doing it by your way it's work but if I done it by myway directly from dekstop not work, I have been working my way for 2 years and all the time work so much curious what happen

Hey K,
Would it be possible you closed all the charts in your layout and saved it that way :eek:
That would explain why it opens, why there are no errors and ... :P ... why there are no charts :lol:

hey k..... still studying on it..... are you by chance using multiple monitors.... if so, max out meta accross both/all monitors and then try to open the layouts....
if you check the properties of the icons themselves, do they say type of file "metastock layout" and opens with "mswin" ..... what is the size on disk value is shown.....
post a picture of the properties of one of the layouts if you can.....h

Hayseed...yes it's on triple monitor,I resize change option still the same here is Properties of Stocks on Warsaw Stock exchange
