The IsCup signals are based on hindsight, therefore it is a pointless exercise to run an exploration on signals that cannot be traded in real-time.
Example:
As at 13/Nov/2006 AU:SGN shows a IsCup signal for 10/Oct/2006, but the signal only appeared on 7/Nov/2006, 4 weeks later.

Dear Jose, The patterns themselves are based on hindsight.
Please read my article in the S&C magazine for details. There is much info there about how the IsCup algorithm can (and should) be used.
Trying to apply the IsCup algorithm without reading the article is like trying to trade using Metastock without reading its manual.
Regards, Giorgos Siligardos
PS.
stevedean63, try to run explorations using Daily and Weekly data and make sure that you load enough data for explorations (for example, load 30000 bars for each exploration)

Dear fellow traders,
I´ve coded "IsCup" similar to the article in "Stocks and Commodities" and tried to analyze the stocks "ALVR" and "IVGN" to see if it works, but I don´t get results. The required minimum is 3000 bars, this criteria is not met because these two stocks began trading in 1999 and 2000, but it works anyway in the examples. Another phenomenon is that if I open a chart , I only get a chart 2,5 years back, despite of the whole data (7 or 10 years back) is stored. What has to appear in the report after exploration, if anything, as the IsCup identifies a chart situation without giving trading signals ? Is it a condition for the exploration to analyse only semilogarithmic charts ? If I open a security from the reports window, I can´t change the chart to semilogarithmic at this point. In the article, under "instructions", is written "attach the cupcoloring Expert to the chart", but I don´t find a way to do this. The CupColoring is coded, but it seems that it´s not linked to the IsCup, beeing the main thing to letting appear the identified CupSituations. I would highly appreciate an answer.
