john had a good question the other day involving indicators that just won't leave..... reminds me of an unwelcomed uncle, but thats another story.....
roy had an ingenious solution involving just changing the formula and g had the ctrl-z ....
at first we might think, well just delete the chart and start over.... or perhaps under 'edit' choose 'delete all' then select the items to delete.... both of those methods have obvious flaws....
keep in mind what follows here is from someone that must routinely reinstall meta from scratch do to constant meddling where he should not be..... its possible to apply indicators which we have no access to the formulas, such as regression lines, and later loose the ability to select them to delete or change, even when they are in plain sight.... yet other times we can click on an indicator and yet another in a different section of the chart be chosen....
there are several ways to achieve that but it happens most often when the indicator is first applied to a chart and then zoomed in.... when we do something that meta is unaccustomed to, it gets confused...... and i freely admit i've had meta so screwed up that once a pop up box came up and said " it's not to late for a refund", (expletives deleted)......
if there is ever a time where you must save the chart and delete the indicator, yet none of the above suggestions will work, try making matters worse.... such as apply an ellipse.....
so just how did we rid ourselves of the uncle that just wouldn't leave..... sibling rivalry ...... we invited a fat round aunt ...... make matters worse, works everytime.....h

I hate to let my grubby paws dirty your post H :P But I have another solution to the "indicator that just won't leave" ... If the problem is because you do not see it or because you can not seem to select it for a reason or another simply select the price bars and then press the tab key on your keyboard until you can't seem to see what is selected :)
Press delete on your keyboard, job done :bigboss:
thanks for the tips for your uncle

hey patrick... thanks, that's really neat.... just clicking tab steps through every single aspect of the chart from the top down, except expert components.... never would have figured that out..... now you have me clicking every key on the key board in search of other hidden solutions...... h
