How to display 2 bars of data per day with Metastock EOD

Requirement:
End of day charting of "futures" securities price data that provide both "night session" and "day session" OHLC data per day.
I need to plot two "daily" candles with the same date to produce a single (e.g. composite) "futures" chart of the "night and day" price movements.
i.e. 28/12/05 night session candle, followed by 28/12/05 day session candle, followed by 29/12/05 night candle, etc, etc.
Therefore the chart should have two bars of data per day for a particular security. The problem I have is that my Metastock EOD application only plots 1 bar per day even though it is referencing a data file I have created which has 2 records (rows) of data per day.
You might be wondering why don't I just merge the daily night and day session data into a single daily bar and the jobs done. My answer is that I don't wish to do that, I would like to plot two bars of data with the same daily date.
Can this be done?
Regards,
Craig

Hey C-
Welcome to the forum!
Quote:referencing a data file I have created
Since you are creating the files anyway, why not just create a day session file and a night session file. Open both charts and then drag the price plot from one of the charts to the other. With two sets of data, you could write whatever composite indicator you desired.

Thank you for the welcome!
The thing is a don't really want that type of composite price plot (i.e. merging the "day" and "night" into a single bar), I need two separate bars of data (one after the other in series) per day.
Is this possible with Metastock EOD? Any tricks I can use to get it to work?

hey c.... g just threw the composite last sentence in for extra info...... his first and second sentences were the answer.....
as g mentioned, just place the 2 data files in seperate folders.... say something like
C:\\MetaStock Data\\day session\\intc and C:\\MetaStock Data\\night session\\intc ..... there are other methods but that is the best known to me.....
now open both your intc day session and night session charts.... right click on the night session price bars and choose copy..... paste that onto the day session..... now both will be on the same chart....
you will need to change the weight and color of one otherwise they will blend together.... i usually have one set at weight size 2 or 3 and the colors very light green and very light red..... the overlayed chart will be set to normal weight and dark red/green colors..... once its set as you like , save as template or layout..... then its a done deal......holler back if ya don't follow......h

Thanks for clarifying... it was 4 am.
If the intent is to plot intraday data in some other fashion on EOD then I'm stuck. The only thing that comes to mind is to delete the time info and change each of the entries to have consecutive dates. Of course, that would be a bear to interpret (no pun intended), since your consecutive dates would have no real meaning... except to plot paired data.
