I am trying to put together an exploration that finds stocks on monthly charts that have hit long term resistances 2 or more times in the past 2 or more years but recently have broken this resistance with above average volume. I attempted to use HHV and HighestSince functions but failed and wasn't even sure if I had the right approach with these. Is there something similar already written or if someone could be so kind to help. Thanks.

ODX, one way of doing something similar without tying down the restrictions of price movement too much is using something as simple as H > Ref(HHV(H,24),-1) on monthly or weekly and then visually reject trades. For above average volume on weekly, I have found something as simple as using a volume oscillator with a threshold over 100 as being useful such as OscV(4,26,E,%) > 100 Have a play with the above and see if it picks up the types of signals you are looking for.
