Hi, I have just upgraded from MetaStock6.52 to 9.1. When I download my Stockmarket data of a night, I store the files alphabetically in subdirectories (c:\\MetastockData\\A through to Z). And as new companies are added to the market the data is automatically added to the above folders. My issue is that I want to be able to run my explorations on all of the stocks that I have in the above folders. I first created a list by adding all of the stocks and running the exploration and that was fine. But now that more stocks are being added to my data folders, I have to manually add each of those stocks back to the list every time I do an exploration, else I am not scanning every stock. Is there a way that I can scan a folder and every stock within that folder, so that when new stocks are added they will automatically be added to the exploration list of files? I remember Metastock 6.0 used to do this perfectly well.

hey craig.... first studying on your And as new companies are added to the market the data is automatically added to the above folders. part.... your setup must be different than mine.... if a new security is listed i must manually go in and add it to the download data folders.... if your data supplier is doing it for you thats neat.... so what i'm about to say is conditioned on that fact..... don't create a list to run explorations on.... doing so assures you must add new securities to it as you mentioned..... rather try this, when you are about to run the exploration and are ready to add securities , just highlight your "A through to Z" folder.... don't open it just click once to highlight it.... now you see the little down arrow beside the open tab, click it.... it should open up to 2 options.... choose "open folder contents"..... that will load every stock in the a to z folder and sub folders..... so if your data suppplier is keeping that folder current it will scan all ..... holler back if ya don't follow and i'll post it better.....h
