Hi, Is it possible to change the number of period after a template is opened for a realtime version? Say from 500 to 1000 periods..... or from 1000 to 500 The reason is that it is more efficient to have shorter periods, ideally for real time trading. But, it is better to have longer period for looking back when market has closed... if the above can be done easily, I can switch the number of period for the same template..... also, it appears to me the the template will remember the number of period when I set it initially, say 1000 periods.....if I apply it another stock / commodity, it will set to be 1000 periods... am I right? Gary

Gary Yes You are right. THe only way to change the periods on the chart after applying the template would be to change the X-axis properties. Right click on the date field at the bottom of the chart and select X-axis porperties Then change the first date for periods loaded. Regards Doc

hey gary.... i might be missing something here..... can't you just use the zoom feature, which in effect is changing the periods/ dates.... in 8 clicks, i counted, my template which begins at 1990 will zoom in to 500 days.... less than a second..... the year long 60 minute chart takes 4 clicks to zoom into 500 periods.... then theres the magnifier box at the top..... there is at least one instance when a template will not use the original 'display' date settings..... that's when your changing tickers on a chart that has the template already applied..... if a 365 day template is applied to the 60 minute chart of csco and you zoom in until the first day displayed is october 3 2005 , no matter what security you go to next, the template will display oct 3 as the first day.... online..... but as first mentioned i might not be completely understanding your goal....h
