Does anybody know what the formula would be to incorporate a horizontal shift into the moving average formula.

You need to use the ref function. Check your help file for the syntax ...
For example the following would give me a 5 period adjusted average:
Ref(Mov(C,10,S),-5)

hey nbbo.... not knowing what your after , left or right horizontal shift, the shift to the left would be, Ref(Mov(C,10,S),+5) ...... patrick has talked specifically about pro's and con's of "+5" in one of the formula training lessons.....h
