I receive my data in Metastock format, but I want to also have the data in ASCII files. Does anyone know how the Metastock files are structured? Are they basic random files? I want to do this programatically, and so control the process - there is a very well indexed application called Meta2ASCII conversion wizard, but this is unsuitable for my purposes.

Traderbull, Who is your data provider? If Paritech or Norgate, then they already provide this for you. If you need to know more, then just reply here. wabbit :D P.S. Where in Oz are you?

Or... you could get the MDK and program your own MSFL application. BTW, there's a sale on at the moment.:-)

Thanks for advice on this - Using TXL Data, MDK probably a bit out of my league, Mansoor's program is standalone exe. But think maybe I can get what I want using "The Explorer". Please close this post.
