If metastock wanted to a new twist to the package it could add a forecasting module. I think it would add to the strengths of the package. You have the indicators, etc now add the ability to project or trend those indicators a period into the future. I think you have all the code ready to go. with some user imputs, shift the chart left to add some white space and project away with a forecasting formula "ffunction" to distinqish from a indicator formula. Then allow the indicators to back into a "projected stock price" Then add ability to back calc a probabliity of success, stats, trigger points, buy sell signals etc. Would definitely be something no other package would have nor do without a lot of work.

This correlates with a lot of other similar requests we have received. We therefore have it under consideration. Thank you for the suggestion.

In the meantime, here are my techniques I use to look forward in MetsStock. I use the forecasting models in Excel and create forward open, high, low and close data. I then transfer that data to MetaStock via the Downloader. I can then use all the features of MetaStock for various what if scenarios. Here is a link to one of my eariler posts - see date 15 Aug 2005. http://forum.equis.com/v...ic.php?t=1488&highlight= Charley

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it is already happening but it seems a good idea to post anything that you are doing "outside of" Metastock like you are already doing so they get an idea of what we actually use it for.
