In real life I am always buying the amount of shares that if my stop gets hit, I lose 2 % of my equity. Can I do that kind of position sizing rule in Metastock? Everybody is talking that you can (and should) upgrade your 8.0 for free to 8.1. How is that possible because I have not read anything about that.

I found that TradeSim as an add on utility gave me a much better feel for how my systems perform. It allows the position sizing model you describe (fixed percent risk) as well as portfolio testing. You can find it at www.compuvision.com.au. -- Evan

I've coded a number of custom variable position sizing indicators for MetaStock clients. This involves the process of normalizing risk (EntryPrice-InitialStop-Slippage) for every trade, such as used in the variable position sizing indicator within the MACDH Divergence kit. jose '-)

learned to do it myself :) It's funny that I have had Meta for couple of years now and I am just now understanding its potential.

Hey finquant- Are the results TOP SECRET? I'm sure others would be interested in following in your footsteps. :)
