Does anyone know why some indicators, especially moving averages, appear choppier on Renko charts in Metastock than other charting programs. In other charting packages a MA applied to a Renko chart looks more like this: http://www.renkos.com/im...frontpage/homechart2.png
In Metastock it appears very choppy. I've tried different moving averages and different periods, but I still get the same results. Does anyone know why this is and how to solve the problem? TIA.

I hate posting these kinda of answers but ... It looks fine to me ... I posted a chart from my pc ... Let me know if you think my cahrt is choppy too but ultimately I would suggest that you mess around with your display settings ...
Give me some info about your setup ... I might have an idea ...
PS : damn the forum is slow, is anyone going to do anythign about it :evil:

Hey Patrick - We also are starting to use RENKO - and the choppiness in the indicators in MS10 - is rather astounding - compared to how they look for example in a Stockcharts Renko Plot. Especially the stochastics and the Williams R and most of all the moving averages.
The PSARs are stairstepped and do not follow the boxes - perhaps occurring when there is a gap or very fast action. [:O]
Are the indicators signal using the data in real time and thus the translation to the chart is not smooth?
Does anyone know if this is an acknowledged problem that someone is working on - or is there not much Renko interest. Looking at the GOGG or CME or BIDU or other major moving stock Renko In and Out signals for the last year has had some impressive gains - so just seeing what is happening here... Thanks
