hey giladbi..... if your talking about having 30 charts in real time or something like that, the only limit would be your data venders limits or your internet connection.... QuoteCenter , esignal and such can give you some resonable expectations on that number.... if your running at dsl speeds bandwith will not be an issue.... open your charts and save the group as a layout.... unless your using 42" monitors some will have to be minimized.... thats ok.... any experts attached will be saved in the layout also..... 30 charts is alot to focus on, attaching experts can take some of that work out......h

hey giladbi..... data is not being saved to the disk , thats interesting..... there are some confusing aspects to creating and saving layouts.... folder issues mainly..... if your using a real time data vendor such as QuoteCenter, the layouts created with those symbols will only work when your connected online to QC.... when you create and save a real time layout, your not actualy saving the charts.... your saving a collection of security symbols, with possibly some indicators and experts attached..... its more like your saving instructions for meta to remember.... if at some point in time you start downloading and saving data localy, you'll be able to create layouts using those folders and symbols.... offline and online.... its by no means manadatory that we download and save..... if the choice is not to, then we must use the online vendors folder ,'only', to create layouts..... just pull up the charts and save as layout..... h

Maybe I'm missing it too, but can't you just load your (50) RT, intraday preiodicity charts, then wait for them to update. Once complete, select save all and save them one by one as a plain chart into a directory other than dataondemand. Then, if you try to pull them up off-line, you should be getting them. It works for me. An alternative way would be to create the file manually using the Downloader. Right-click your intraday priceline and select copy. Then, open the Downloader. Create new security. Choose your offline folder, type in any name and symbol. Click datasheet, right-click row1,col1 box and select paste. If that file is not listed for downloader updates and you are offline, then you can work with it without any data service.

Well... if you are offline, they aren't going to update. Goto TOOLS | OPTIONS | REALTIME and make sure all of the stuff is checked. Then, MS will ask you to restart. Select OK. Once restarted, pull up your security again and your're good to go.
