Some charts would be well described by the Parabolic Trend Line, and we don’t have anything that would fit it.
Ellipse doesn’t fit, as well as Semi Log one.
I can do series of straight trend lines, but it is cumbersome and bit too subjective.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but looks that it is only me who is interested in this type of trendline.
Would be even better if I could choose 3 or 4 points so I can create saucer, and then move individual points to make trendline better wrap around the price action.
Actually similar to ellipse, but with 1 extra point and without the top/bottom.
Can it be done or I am asking too much?

Actually George I would like to create the same thing. I would ultimately like to create an exploration which searches for cups & handles. Having a parabolic trend line tool would certainly be a must for that kind of thing. The metastock dev kit would probably be able to produce it. However rules for building such a line must be laid down. What is the mathematical formula for the line regression parameters?
y = ax^2 + bx + c
What range of data points will be used in the calculation?
I haven't thought very long on this at the mo, but I'm definitely sure its possible.
