guys and girls,
i trade commodities (paper coal, physical power and gas), and i use technical analysis because it works. however, every morning i have to input 40 prices in the downloader. how can i automate it? i tried linking it to excel, but there is no automatic linkage option between excel and metastock..............

There are a few free tools available on the net to convert various file formats into MS data formats. I have never used any of them, so cannot make any recommendations.
Personally, I'd just do a google for +metastock +convert +data and see what comes up.

BETTER UPDATE :
I found the author's site at http://www.geocities.com/mimansoor/
I would get the software from his site directly, as it will assure the latest version avaialble.
He is an excellent coder and supports the Yahoo! MS forums ==> his software does come recommended.

Hello,
I need to convert data from own generated text-files automatically into metastocks-datafiles.
- Firstly I thought I can code this with MSFL, but then I recognized there is only a read version available.
- Then I thought I could do this with the downloader, but it has no command line or other API. I tried to automate it with sendkeys, but if someone works on the same computer it gets very error prone.
- Then I found in the forum about mimansoor's tool. but the website on geocities isn't any more available.
Does someone know where I can get the latest version of this tool?
(I don't want to spend more money - for metalib, because I have already bought MDK)
