Hi All,
I would like to to see a weekly Moving Average and a weekly MACD on a daily chart, that updates with every bar, every day of the week.
Sorry if the above is a little messy.
The weekly indicators I am looking for would simply look at the last 5 bars on a daily chart and choose the highest high, lowest low, average close or average open or whatever is needed to perform the indicator calculation from the last 5 bars.
This would be a weekly indicator ending every day of the week.
Is it possible to make such indicators within the Metastock?
If so, any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Anne

Hi Wabbit,
Had a look and found the indicators to be lagging in relation to the incator as viewed on weekly bars.
Would I be able to create a "Fml"synthetic weekly bar consisting of the highest high of the last 5 days the lowest low of the last 5 days an average front end weighted open and close.
This synthetic bar would be created with each new bar,(referencing the last 5 bars), in this case each new daily bar.
Could I then refer to to this bar and create my rolling weekly indicators which would be viewd on a daily bar chart.

How much was it lagging by? Is this lag significant? Have a look on this forum for my thoughts on sensitivity in trading systems.
Were you comparing the built in MACD() indicator with the synthetic one, or synthetic MACD with synthetic MACD?

Could the lag come from the exponential nature of the MACD ...
1000 weekly Periods will be smoothed more than
1000 Daily periods converted to 200 weeks worth of data ...
