Why are there values in the Margin Column of the Equity Report when I'm not specifying any Margin Interest Rate or Margin Requirement-Long Initial (both are set to 0%)in the System Testing Options Dialog box? In the System Testing Options box I'm specifying an Initial Equity of 10,000 and a Default Size:100% Of Available Equity. An example of the output is the following - Position 1 is Long x 54054 Units at an Opening Price of $0.34 for a Value of $18378.36 but my Initial Equity is only 10,000. At best I thought I would expect Position 1 to be Long x 29,411 Units (same Opening Price) for a Value of $10,000.
I'm confused.

If you do not want to use any margin at all, I believe your options should be set like this :
Margin requirements :
Long Initial : 100% ( Means 100% of your money nothing else )
Long Maintenance : 0%
Short Initial : 200%
Short Maintenance : 101%
I have to double check on that though but I'm pretty sure this is right.
EDIT - it is the right answer 8)

Thanks, Patrick, it works.
Now, I just have to figure out why it works but I'll work on that.
