Hi, I use E*Trade as one of my trading brokers. The offer futures trades based on many (not all) of the CME futures. For pretty much all of those the symbols given by E*Trade (based on the core CME symbol) differs from anything found in Metastock. For most, I have found what I believe are matchups. For example. E*Trade/CME symbol for July Canadian Dollar futures is 6CN5 (actually /6CN5). In Metastock, it appears to be CDN25. One future I did not find in MetaStock is the Micro-Gold future - E*Trade/CME core symbol is MGC. So, the July future symbol is MGCN5 in E*Trade. Another was Micro WTI Crude - E*Trade/CME symbol is MCL. Can anyone help me determine what would be the mactchup in Metastock? Thanks in advance! Hello, MGC appears to be the correct base instrument code. However, July does not appear to be a valid contract month. Based on what I am seeing, valid month codes are: Feb Apr Jun Aug Oct Dec They also appear to be using a 2-digit year for the year portion of the Future symbol. For example, June 2025 Micro Gold should be: MGCM25 August 2025 Micro Gold should be: MGCQ25
Micro WTI Crude appears to have MWCL for the base instrument code.
They also appear to be using a 2-digit year for the year portion of the Future symbol. For example, August 2025 Micro WTI Crude should be: MWCLQ25 September 2025 Micro WTI Crude should be: MWCLU25

Ah, Thank you! The issue actually appears to be that I cannot find them in a search. I was trying to add all the futures contracts I follow into a "Custom Online Data list" but could not find a few using either the based symbol (such as MGC) or even "Gold" as part of the name. I did figure out that some/most of the contracts did have variations to their symbols versus CME/E*Trade (such as 25 for the year versus just 5). I found many via the search function but not all. However, when I type in the MGC options, the CL options, and the Micro CL they do show up and chart (although no name appears in the list with the symbol). Thank you!

Happy to help! The XENITH (Workspace) platform is fairly limited for Daily Charts users but you might at least have some better success trying to search for symbols there vs. the MetaStock Instrument Search. In your Windows System Tray, you should have a XENITH icon (should be a black square with an orange X). If you right-click on this and then click "Launcher" a search box should appear. If you were to type for example "Micro WTI" in this box you might find useful search results. Because XENITH is a bit limited for DC users, you may need to do some trial and error with looking up the potential symbol in XENITH and then trying that symbol as a chart in MetaStock. Custom lists take symbol names from the Public Lists. Because these instruments are not in the Public Lists, the name field will appear blank in your custom list (although we should pull some description information from the data provider that should show up on the inner window title bar of the chart i.e. WTI Cru AUG25).
