Hi

Metastock 18 EOD data range is only 2 years.

I am trying to post a screen shot of the data settings but I can't upload it.  It says myy computer settings don't allow it. It's a new Windows 11 laptop.

How do I fix that so I can ask how to extend it to the full range provided by my data supplier?

Thank you.

Hello,

I think we would need to start by determining how you are bringing data into MetaStock, i.e. are you using some sort of "Export" option within your data provider's software, or are you performing a Convert in Downloader, etc? Who is your data provider?

Downloader 18's Convert feature simply takes the full data in the Source File and brings it into a MetaStock formatted data file. So there should be no data limitation beyond what is in the source file.

If you are using a feature within your data vendor's software to export the data into MetaStock we would need to see if they have some sort of setting that specifies a date range for export.

Hi Thanks. It wasn't anything to do with the data feed as that was accurage. It was metastock. I changed the data request range (but it did nothing) then selected "clean template". Then changed request range again and it worked not just for the chart I was looking at but for all charts and all templates! Weird.

Hi again,

That is good to hear. One thing that can affect this is the "Retain Scale" option within the X-Axis Properties. This option can basically lock in a specific range of data, ignoring any date ranges you might set within the Power Console. This option can be enabled and saved into a template, including the Default template, which could cause it to affect all newly opened smart charts, etc.
