Hello,

Ecostat seems to be no longer working under MS 16.

Most layouts will return invalid symbol messages.

The very same layouts are still working fine under MS 15.

Thank your for your reply.

Greg

Hi,

Can you give me a specific layout that you are trying? When running MetaStock 16, had you run the MetaStock Migration Utility to import your old formulas? One thing to keep in mind is that we removed EcoStat from MetaStock 16 so the formulas will not be there by default (old imported formulas should still work however).

Thank you for your answer.

I did run the MetaStock Migration Utility.

Here is an example with all GDP (10 charts):

Hi Greg,

Thanks again for the feedback. I know you've worked a bit with our chat team, and it does appear there is a technical issue with these. I will be writing this up as a bug and we will need to investigate a bit more. We will also follow-up with you when we do have an update.

I have just realized that the problem is not related to ecostat but to the symbols themselves, which is a lot more worrisome.

Economical symbols considered invalid inside metastock work fine in eikon. This seems to concern symbol which feature both upper and lower case characters.

Hi again,

Mixed case symbols will work (i.e. ESc1 future), whereas USGDPF=ECI (another economic indicator) is not presently working in MetaStock.

Hello,

I had the very unpleasant surprise to find out that the bug is still not solved

in version 16.01.18229. The only reason I did not cancel my msRT16 order during the 1 month trial was the promise by ms support to solve the issue on the first update :

" It's because economic data comes from different servers and since EcoStat was discontinued starting with version 16, it was not programmed to connect to those servers, but we are adding the code to do that and will be included in the first update of MS 16."

I am still using ms15 instead of ms16 because of that issue.

Can you tell me more about the reason why the economic symbols still won't work inside metastock 16. Wether ecostat is supported or not all kinds of symbols accessible in metastock xenith are supposed to be acessible as well in metastock.

Thank you.

Hi,

There was an issue bringing in the data due to some new code that checked the Delayed/Realtime status of an instrument. This was resolved in the latest maintenance release. I am able to open for example, the EcoStat - All GDP (10 charts) layout without error. Are you still seeing the same errors reported previously? We may need to have you work directly with our support team to see if we can figure out where the problem still resides.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked again, it seems to work fine now. 2 days ago ecostat layouts would return an invalid symbol error message. Thank you very much any way for fixing this issue. Greg
