I am trying to open a MS formatted data file in the Power Console.  The data is weekly.  I get the following message: "Data Validation Failed - Invalid Weekly Timestamp".

How do I proceed?

TIA!

Hi, If you would like to Copy/Paste some of the data into a post that might help us determine the issue. We might need to see all of the data for one security if this ends up being insufficient.

Sorry - a definite newbie here - I will learn quickly, but... How do I add the files to the post?

I would say just try and Copy and Paste some of the data for now vs. attaching the entire file. File uploads can be a bit tricky here, so most people actually link to a 3rd party site. You should be able to just highlight the first few rows (and header), press Ctrl-C to Copy, then open a new post here and press Ctrl-V to Paste it in.

Hi, I think we would need to take a look at the entire CSV in retrospect. The formatting is not necessarily an issue (it does of course need to be comma delimited and have the right headers) but there could be an issue between a set of specific dates. I would make sure you have the latest build, 4257 (in Help > About MetaStock) as well. If you can link off the the txt file we can take a look at it, otherwise you can also contact support directly and have them take a look at it. Typically if there is a data validation issue, it will tell you about it when you add the CSV to a list. This would be stored inside a log file in C:\Users\(Windows.Username)\AppData\Local\Thomson Reuters\MetaStock\15.0\Logs\MetaStock If you were to try and look through this yourself I would recommend closing MetaStock, clearing the contents of the above ...\Logs\MetaStock folder, restart MetaStock and add the CSV to a new local list. Then close MetaStock and look near the end of the MSWinLog text file to see if it mentions a data-related problem.
