Is it possible to program in System Tester so that a strategy occurs on the daily chart only if a condition on the weekly chart is satisfied? For examples: buy for trading system in the diary only if the price is above the ema (close, 20) on the weekly.

Another example: Buy at the SAR turnaround on the daily chart only if the SAR is below the prices on the weekly chart.

It is possible?

Thank you.

Generally speaking you can 'compress' smaller time frame data into larger time frames using the MetaStock formula language. The exact implementation will depend on the particular time frames and the specifics of your entry/exit conditions. If you do not find assistance here you can contact our formula department directly via: https://www.metastock.co...s/customformulaform.aspx

Hi rafael

SAR has a very difficult underlying formula and it would be very difficult to code for weekly data on a daily chart. Overall there are near to 200 different Multi-Frame formulas that together can plot timeframes from 1 minute to 1 year on appropriate charts. Sadly SAR is not among the 200, and that's not likely to change any time soon. One solution for you could be to pay MetaStock Support or Wabbit to create a unique DLL. If SAR can indeed be simulated and then moved to the Multi-Frame format it's my guess that the number of PREVs required would seriously dampen it's usefulness.

I'm going to take a look at the spread-sheet version over the next couple of days to see if I can make any headway but don't hold your breath.
