Hi,
MetaStock 15 reads 3 local formats: MSLocal (New MetaStock format), Legacy (Old MetaStock format) and CSV (Comma Delimited Text).
You may find the following video helpful:
You can also more broadly search the Youtube MetaStock channel for DownLoader, i.e.: https://www.youtube.com/.../search?query=downloader

I use the older version of the downloader to supply quotes for my other software, can I continue using it for Metastock XV? The newer version of the downloader seems to take at least twice as long to download quotes to use in the offline mode> Is this normal?

Hi,
The initial release of 15 did have some performance issues with the new data format. We have made significant improvements to this with our first maintenance update. If you are in MetaStock and click Help > About MetaStock, which version of 15 do you show (i.e.: 15.0.3971)?

Hi,
I believe it was just yesterday that we released an updated version. If you go back to your My Downloads page on MetaStock.com you can re-download MetaStock 15 and it should be 15.0.4203. This should have some noticeable performance improvements with the new local data format.

Yes! The new version works much better. I updated 9800 quotes in less than 5 minutes. The previous version took over an hour? This is better than my ver 11 downloader!

That is great to hear, and lines up with what we saw with our internal testing as well. Typical download situations should actually be a bit faster than the old DownLoader (with the latest maintenance release).
