I have found MetaStock 13 pro pretty much useless as a trader. It may be good for a programmer or developer looking for the holy grail in indicators, but for a trader it is terrible.
I cant believe that tick charts are not available.
The programme is cumbersome to use. A simple exercise of drawing trend channels and support and resistance lines is tedious
Crashes a lot of the time
When the market opens charts are slow to open
Charts are harder to read than other charting programmes
I want to display only closing prices on bar charts but that option doesn't exist
It has so much gimmicky stuff in it that a trader doesn't need, but things that do matter to a trader are missing
I have now gone to ninja trader, and the difference is quite remarkable.
For company that maintains that MetaStock is the ants pants of charting it is basically a load of expensive crap.
I've persevered with it now for 2 years and have finally had enough.

I have to agree to some extent. I tried Metastock a while back, when it was version 8 or 9 I think. I just signed up for the trial - man oh man....nothing is different. Still mostly limitations on top of limitations. You can't even save your desired setting for popular drawing tools like Fib retracements and others. I think this software may only work for someone using fully automated systems to trade. For discretional trader it's an awkward nigthmare.
