Hello,
I cannot plot forex data along with other securities in MS pro 13, I get the invalid periodicity message. For example I would like to plot the Euro (weekly data) against the s&p500 (weekly). I had not this problem with MS pro 10.1 for esignal. Is this a bug? Thank you for your reply.

I have been told by the tech support that it is actually a bug. I hope this will be corrected soon as this a HUGE issue for me. Also hope that plotting economical data along with other type of data will be made possible too. I have been using Eikon technical charts lately more often than MS because of all those bugs...

You can plot any data via the Security function, but there is something of a bug that relates to the different FIDs (Field Identifiers) when attempting to use Insert-->Instrument, dragging and dropping the price into the chart, using the Relative Strength Comparative indicator.
What other problems are you encountering in MetaStock charts?

Thank you for your reply. Fortunately only these 2 for now. I am already using the security function solution but it is a tedious process to that for each symbol... Sometimes it just feels more convenient to plot economical, fundamental data inside reuters to compare them. I wish I had the same flexibility inside MS. One of the main reason which made me upgrade from MS Pro 10.1 to MS Pro 13 was the ecostat feature as I greatly focus on macroeconomics/ technical analysis fusion, and I was more than happy to have the ability to apply my custom indicators to economical data. I do not regret my choice as Eikon is several light years ahead esignal and is worth by itself the upgrade. Regardind MS Pro, I only hope the issues mentionned above will be solved soon and that custom systems inside the forecaster will be made avalaible.

Understood, this is an issue we're definitely looking into, but I do not know when this particular bug will be fixed.
Custom Forecasts is something that is definitely in the works (this will hopefully be available by v14).

Hi,
I also get the invalid periodicity message with US10YT=RR and other govt rates benchmarks when ploting them against other securities. I hope this will be fixed in the next update. Using intermarket analysis has become challenging inside MSpro 13. I have to create a security function for each symbol....

Hi greg550,
I am not sure when this particular issue will be fixed. However, perhaps you can clarify what you mean by creating a security function for each symbol?
If you have a Security divided by a benchmark, you should be able to use the Security function to call the benchmark and use C or another data reference along with it, such as;
C / Security("US10YT=RR",C)
or
Security("US10YT=RR",C) / C
Granted, if you want to use a wider variety of tickers you would likely need to create custom indicators for this, in the event the Relative Strength Comparative indicator does not work.

Thank you for your answer,
I only meant creating a security function for symbols (fx, eco indicators, rates ...) which produce "the invalid periodicity message" when ploting them with other securities.

Ah okay thank you for clarifying! We are going to bump the priority on this bug a bit although I cannot still say for certain when this issue will be corrected.
