Hi,
I cannot plot the charts from ecostats along with any other security. I
get the message" invalid periodicity" althought the periodicity is the
same. For example I cannot chart monthly consumer price index (from the
us inflation layout) and monthly gold chart together. I don't see the point to retrieve any economical data inside a technical analysis software if this is not for ploting them against other securities.

Hello,
There is presently a limitation on having symbols that use different fields in the same chart (as a secondary instrument). This has been written up as a bug, but you can create a custom indicator to work around this limitation in the meantime.
New Indicator US Consumer Price Index Formula: Security("USCPN=ECI",C)
If you insert the above as an Indicator into your gold chart, you should get a line of the economic data.
