I’ve been using
Metastock for several years, last version is version 9. For personal reasons I
stopped trading for some years, now it’s time to reuptake it. I realize that,
the new policy of MS 12 is the direct online access to Reuters DataLink without
downloading data to the hard drive. This, in fact, is no problem for me. Just
one question: I do not use Metastock for my trading only. I use several other
programs such as Neuroshell Trader… which can be fed with MS Data format. Will
it be possible, with a Reuters DataLink subscription to feed other platforms
with data such as Neuroshell Trader, Omnitrader an others?

Heubi,
I know that you can use Reuters Datalink (eod) with OmniTrader, not sure about NeuroShell Trader.

Alot of programs read Reuters Datalink EOD, There are many other vendors that can add data to your metastock data files! As far as Neuroshell trader goes, Yes it does read Reuters Datalink EOD data!

Sorry about this comment: as a Group leader you should know a Little bit more than what you read about it - you know, reading all these Advertisings and publicities I can do that myself...

Dear Heubi, just to let you know, I have no affiliation with Equis, Metastock or any other trading platform! I'm a private trader who has been using their software for years, As a group leader, that title was given to me by the administrators for my contributions of formulas to this forum.I get no renumeration for my posts, As for advice or formulas that you get , do your own due research to find out if it works for you.

A couple points:
-The MetaStock forum is a user-contributed forum. While Support and Management do review comments here, it is set up to allow MetaStock users to collaborate. This does not make everyone an expert in all things, and if you want a definitive answer on a fairly specific subscription question, you will likely want to contact our official support/sales channels.
-MetaStock 13 requires Reuters DataLink or XENITH, but Reuters DataLink does not require MetaStock. Any DataLink subscriber gets access to The DownLoader, which collects our pricing data and stores it locally in our old MetaStock data format (which is what most 3rd parties that read the MetaStock format would use).

Thank you
Administrator (your post from 12-24-2013). That's exactly what I wanted to know
(my initial question from 12-09-2012). I am surprised about the time, the number
of users replying, the confusion and emotions my post caused and, last but not
least, the difficulties a simple question causes to answer it. I will consider
your advice and contact your official support/sales channels for any further
questions related to subscription questions in the future.
