Greetings fellow MS users. This is my first post.

I have been running MS v8 happily for some years with no real need to upgrade. However since installing it on my Windows 7 64 bit device it has developed a glitch I can't resolve.

When I open a chart [any chart] and right click on the background, I expect to see the options menu. However it does not appear. All I see are the 4 x vertically descending triangle shapes but no menu at all to the right. It matters not what colour the background is. This rather limits the functionality of MS.

I am not sure if it is a function of v8 having problems with a 64bit system or just plain user error.

I welcome suggestions from anyone who might have a solution [other than upgrading which I don't really want to do]

Many thanks

Version 8 isn't officially compatible with Windows 7 x64.

You could try running the program as compatible with a previous version of Windows. Right-click on the EXE -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program in compatibility mode for.

Thanks haddison

I have been running MS in XP [SP3] mode for that reason. I've tried various different compability modes to no avail.

Sometime when I have menu portion missing, it turns out to be 'screen resolution'. Not necessarily in MetaStock but in other programs. Changing the resolution - increasing/decreasing or changing text size often solves the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion retireewill. I just tried half a dozen various screen resolutions with the same result. I'm thinking it's a compatability issue.
