Hello everybody,
I have a smart chart connected to a symbol feeded with real time data. The chart worked well till a few days ago. It suddenly started showing the date: 17 Nov. 2012 in the x axis and not the actual present date. I checked the x axis properties and whatever date I enter it automatically reverts to 17 Nov. 2012. The chart is now a mess.
What went wrong I don't know.
Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thank you very much in advance,
Jim

Who is your RT data vendor? Have you spoken with them?

The data come from the InteractiveBrokers platform. There is a middleware transfering the data between IB and the MetaStock. Both InteractiveBrokers and the middleware show correct date(s). MetaStock data server receives correct date(s) but displays the *magic* 17 Nov. 2012 date in the graph as the last available date with data. As I said this is reflected in the x axis properties, too.

Have you contact MetaStock support about this?
From what you have described, it would be useful to set up a capture file in metastock to see what we are getting from the middleware. The capture settings are hidden in the options dialog but can be accessed by holding down the control key and right-clicking on the left of the options dialog at the same height as the default button. The one on the Esignal tab is most likely to help in this case. After enabling the capture, you will need to restart metastock for the change to take effect.
After turning the capture on, before starting metastock, delete the data files in the cache folder. Then start metastock and open one chart. Verify the chart has the bad date. then close the chart and close metastock. Email the file to support. it will be in the windows temp folder with the name: "MetaStock Professional-Online.log"
