My DataLink subscription is current, and when I start MetaSotck it gives me a Welcome message, yet my data is only current to April 2008. I am online (obvious with this post) ... yet I can find no switch/option on the MetaStock window to get current data. It allowed me to update the stock symbols ... still no data updates. Thanks ...

George,

Assuming you have the EOD version of Metastock, you need to configure "The Downloader" if you want the data on your local drive for faster access (for Explorations & such). Also, it will need to run every day, about 3 hours after the markets close. Either you run it manually, or set up a job in the Windows Scheduled Tasks utility.

If you just want to look at online data directly, make sure you are using the right program: Under the START MENU, All Programs, Equis Intl, there will be two options for Metastock:

-- Metastock

-- Metastock Offline Mode

Use the first one. Now, when you click FILE -- OPEN, you should see an extra option on the left-hand side of the dialog box, called "Reuters Datalink". Make your choice from there, and you will have up-to-date data.
