Request for Help Creating NH-NL Custom Securities for FTSE100

Hello All,
I am a UK based user of MS Pro, trading primarily FTSE 100 securities. Unfortunately Quote Center do not provide New High New Low data for any UK indeces, which is something I would really like to have.
I have copied Jose’s 52 week new high new low exploration and this works very well; but what I would like to do is to export that data to a custom security in the downloader so that I can then view the NH-NL curve against an index that I am following.
So if I want to do this currently, I would need to create two new securities in the Downloader – one for new highs, and another for new lows. I would then need to run the exploration daily, and count the number of new highs or new lows, before manually editing the two custom securities.
To make this slightly more difficult, there is no way that I can see to export the results of an exploration to Excel, meaning that I would have to physically count the new highs and new lows from the explorer report before making my updates.
Does anyone know any ways that I could shorten this process? Ideally I would like to automate it completely, but I guess that will not be possible; unless QC decide to make NH-NL data available for non US Securities.

If what you want is the NH-NL data for the individual securities in the index, the simplest solution would be to get the FIRE addon.

Many thanks Johnathan - that looks very interesting; at that price I will do some more research first, but it looks like it should do what I need.

It's possible the NHNL data is available, but you haven't found its
symbol. The Reuters support people don't always have things on the tip
of their tongue, either...hard to believe the data ain't out there.
FWIW, on the PLUS side, the FIRE addon will do what you want, plus a lot more. It's a separate program, but you can automate it using Windows' "Schedule Tasks" to run after your usual downloads are done; I set it to about 20 minutes later. You have to wait that 20 min. plus a few for the calculation, but the data is instantly available.
An alternative would be to create an custom indicator which tallys the data; you'd have to use multiple indicators, then use FML to call them from one "master" indicator. If your system is older, this can take a moment to load. Not too bad on a Quad-Core, but it ain't lightning...<g>.
On the MINUS side, there are disadvantages to both methods:
1. Aside from possible slowness, with the multiple indicator method you must maintain the custom SECURITY calls manually. 2. With FIRE, it will tally everything in a folder, but the history changes when the FTSE 100 list in that folder changes -- this introduces an additional backtesting bias.
Using FIRE, however, takes the least effort and time. Rough guesstimate is to subtract 2% from return to account for bias...

Good point, I will ask them again but I'm pretty sure the data is only available for the US Indeces.
I watched a demo video on FIRE, and it does look like a very useful addon - I'll see if I can make some money this week and go for it :)
Thanks for the excellent comments.
