I like to scan through charts in a certain folder. I can specify the period for the first chart, but every subsequent chart only displays the last 500 periods. If I want to see older data, I have to close and re-open the chart. Is there any way of scanning charts so that each one shows all the data for that security?

Under FILE, OPEN, look at the top right: You should see a Button/Drop-Down that says OPTIONS; choose LOAD OPTIONS.

There you can specify the number of periods/bars you want to load and to display. It is probably set to 500 at present, per your description.

Only it doesn't work! I reset the periods as you suggested from 500 to 2000. That seemed to work as the starting date - which I have set to display in the chart window - was shown correctly (if within the last 2,000 periods obviously). Previously the start date was shown as the date 500 periods ago.

But the chart in fact still only shows the last 500 periods.

You may need to DOUBLE-CLICK on the X-AXIS, and put a check on the RETAIN SCALE box, so it will remember the start date you want. That overrides DISPLAY PERIODS under LOAD OPTIONS.

Thanks again. In fact, checking more carefully, your first solution did work, I misread the chart.
