I've created a text file in the following format to input with MS: <ticker>,<NAME>,<PER>,<date>,<TIME>,<OPEN>,<HIGH>,<lOW>,<CLOSE>,<VOL>,<OPENINT> AAC,Australian Agricultural C Food Beverage &,D,07/01/2010,,1.51,1.51,1.465,1.5,2823.22,0 AAD,Ardent Leisure Group Real Estate,D,07/01/2010,,0.98,0.99,0.94,0.94,7683.89,0 AAG,Aragon Resources Ltd Materials,D,07/01/2010,,0.19,0.19,0.18,0.18,449.75,0 AAK,Australia China Holdings Real Estate,D,07/01/2010,,0.003,0.003,0.003,0.003,2000,0 AAM,A1 Minerals Ltd Materials,D,07/01/2010,,0.22,0.22,0.21,0.21,3322.18,0 AAX,Ausenco Ltd Capital Goods,D,07/01/2010,,1.8,1.835,1.71,1.795,16177.87,0 etc, which updates fine but doesn't insert the company name. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong here please? Note: The first line says TICKER, NAME, etc between angled brackets but for some reason it doesn't appear properly in this message.

You have two commas after the date - was that intended?

Yes, that's needed for the TIME field. It's "(TICKER),(NAME),(PER),(DATE),(TIME),(OPEN),(HIGH),(LOW),(CLOSE),(VOL),(OPENINT)" I'm trying to change the stock name in the Title Bar, but can't seem to do so.

Are you using MS EOD or MS Pro? If you're using EOD, try removing the Time field - its not compulsory. This is what it says in The Downloader help file:

<time>. The time of the data contained on the line of the ASCII file. This field should only be used if the ASCII file contains intraday price data (i.e., the periodicity is intraday). The time should be entered using a 24 hour clock (e.g., 3:30 PM = 15:30).

No I get error messages if I leave that out. As is it updates correctly but doesn't insert the name in the title bar, unless it's a new stock.

You need to include a proper header row.

I did. Like I said in my first message, if I type in those angled brackets they only appear as commas on this forum for some reason. How do you include that code section btw?

I don't know if this will work, but try putting a time of 00:00.

You said you get an error message if you remove the time field, but I forgot to tell you that you could try removing both the periodicity and the time fields to see if it works. They're both optional unless you have intraday data.

Ok I could add and subtract fields, but I doubt it's going to change the name in the Title Bar. I'm pretty sure I did this about 18 months ago, but sadly I've forgotten how.

I think that't the one. There's the menu line, then the icons, then the title bar I'm referring to. The data file I've shown will insert the name if the file doesn't already exist.

Yes they're all checked and I can see the Ticker symbol and prices. I'm just wondering how you can enter or change the name of the stock as viewed on that same line?
