In the USA you quote stocks in US dollars but in Britain, stocks are quoted in pence. Therefore a stock at £8.50 is stored as 850p. When I run a system test, I have to have a huge £M portfolio to buy 1000 shares because Metastock processes 850p as $850.
Can you correct for currency, please.

Has anyone got a solution to this? I assume I am doing something wrong (new customer) and have just set something up incorrectly. Any help to prod me in the right direction will be gratefully accepted.
Thank you.

Dear Rikh2
The only workaround I came up with is to multiply your portfolio amount by at least 100, better still use 1000. So a small £1000 portfolio becomes £100,000 or even £1,000,000.

Hi alphateam
You can adjust prices in The Downloader, e.g. divide by 100. Its best to make a backup of your data before you adjust.
Click on Tools -> Adjust -> Data for Multiple Securities. Select the securities you want to adjust. Click on Adjust. Select Open, High, Low and Close and make sure "Operation" is set to "Divide." Type 100 in the factor box and press OK.
The price will then be in pounds instead of pence. Unfortunately you'll need to do this every time you update your data, so this isn't a permanent solution.
Best regards
H
