Each year "Stock & Commodities" magazine comes out with a reader choice best of Investing software. I ask you,Metastock users which of the MetaStock Plug-ins you prefer and why? I'm looking for a couple that are the most useful before I purchase them. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Bennie, Well, I have to start off by saying that what I'm going to say is just a personal opinion. And that opinion is that none of them are of some value(e.i. the systems are not good). I have trial - tested a few of them and they either contain a black box formula(not being able to see the actual code) or if they are open, the results from the system test are not as nearly as good as one might have thought. (most of the cases the system will result in a loss). Having said that, the black box systems would usually give extremely good system test with an average of 100% or more a year. However, when you dig a little deeper you could identify that they give shadow signals which essentially disappear within a few days due to the use of the Zig Zag Indicator within the formulas. However, when system tests are performed the tester only tests the valid signals thereby indicating a very different scenario from what might occur if you use those systems/signals. So, thats my opinion regarding plug-ins but yet I have to mention that I have only seen a few perform. One advice - try to get a trial version of a plug-in or speak with someone who has used a specific plug in and ask him/her about the performance. Cheers, VT

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
I know that there are several members who claim that PowerPivots Plus has black box systems! I'm not going to try to defend the systems that come with this Add-on, but the external formulas that come with this package are worth the money.
you can create Multi time frame indicators, use a system latch to create systems.

the only problem is that the documentation that comes with this add-on is very lax in their explanations and examples.
