I have been using Metastock 9 for some time now, but suddenly, I have found that I am not able to use the line drawing mode. Every time I try to drag the cursor into the smart chart area the cursor jumps out of the chart, and it has an arrowed cross attached to it (as in the zoom mode). How can I overcome this problem?

Which version of Windows are you using this on? Are you using any Desktop themes?

Hi Justin, I am using Vista Home Basic in an HP Pavilion desktop. The Metastock program has been working well for the last 3 months until it suddenly refused to change into the line drawing mode.

It's possible that we could be having a problem with the Vista Aero theme on your PC. This is something that has affected a select number of PC's.
However, more specifically what we have seen is that you cannot move your mouse cursor into the chart at all, not just when using drawing tools. What you can try is:
-Right click on the MetaStock shortcut and choose Properties -Click on the Compatibility tab -Put a checkmark next to "Disable Desktop Composition" -Put a checkmark next to "Disable Visual Themes" -Click Ok -Restart MetaStock
