Hi hatem,
Welcome to the forum.
Have a look in the MS Users Manual and/or the free Equis Formula Primer for the ValueWhen() function. Do a search of the forum for working with dates. If you have any problems, post your best attempt at your code and someone will help.

thank you for the quick reply,
i have tried looking through the fourm but i did not find the answer , also have tried ValueWhen but that is not what i am looking for,
what i want is : everyday's close over original date say 1/jan/2009
: say for example that i have
Day Close
1/jan/2009 23
2/jan/2009 25
3/jan/2009 21
4/jan/2009 26
so now i will calculate everynew day's close above original (fixed)day close, (note the date is the important not the value)
so i will calculate the Div of every day over the original day
23/23
25/23
21/23
26/23
i hope now it is clear ,
thanks anyway

Gee sorry hatem, next time I want to go away for the weekend with my friends, I shall seek your permission first.
