How to pass "Indicator" as the parameter to a custom Indicator?

Hello Everyone I am learning how to create custom indicators in Metastock. I noticed that the standard indicators which come with Metastock allow the user to apply the indicator to other indicators instead of just the price indicator. For example, the Moving Average Indicator can be applied on Volume. For this, the Moving Average properties box has a drop down parameter field which allows to choose "Indicator" as the value. How can do such a thing in my own custom indicator? I see that the Input() function seem to allow only numeric values and not strings as input parameters. Is there any other function? Can someone please help? Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards
